Obama signed the Executive order today that bought Bart Stupak’s abandonment of the unborn. He blew off his first chance to sign it yesterday (likely the Planned Parenthood people hadn’t finished the final markup of the Executive order in time) but went through with his promise to issue a document that has no legal standing earlier today.
The text of what was “promised” before unborn children were Stupakked is here. What he actually signed is another thing…interestingly, it’s not up on the White House’s official website yet (as of 5 pm est on March 24).
No matter…the ink is long dry on paper worth more than the legal weight of that which was written on it.

One thing is for certain, we are going to find out the mettle of the Supreme Court. Things are going to get very interesting. While the bulk of the bill is tied up in legal wranglings, unfortunately the taxes are going to kick in. I have college age kids looking for part time jobs. one thing that caught my eye was that employers would have to cover part time employees. My chillins’ got wide eyed when I explained to them that the result of this provision would mean a sharp reduction in part time jobs.
oh, the other cherry thing is that the unconstitutional organization known as the IRS is going to have dominion over enforcement…In my best southern accent…isn’t that niiiice. ( for my northern brethren, that’s a southern ladies way of saying f u)

janet, that surely made me smile.. unfortunately under the current circumstances we cannot turn away. I think time has come to fight fire with fire. The teaparty movement is doing it.
