You can’t make up headlines like these folks. According to Fox, now that he’s won his primary race over Specter, Sestak wants to kiss and make up with Obama…sorta:

“Could the reason why Congressman Joe Sestak refuses to name names is because the very people who tried to bribe him are now his benefactors?” Issa said in a written statement Wednesday. “Was Joe Sestak embellishing what really happened or does he have first-hand knowledge of the White House breaking the law? If what he said is the truth, Joe Sestak has a moral imperative to come forward and expose who within the Obama administration tried to bribe him.”

The Sestak campaign, meanwhile, said it would welcome support from the White House for the November campaign.

Sestak “would be proud to stand with the president and vice president,” Sestak campaign spokesman Jonathan Dworkin told FoxNews.com, adding that the candidate spoke to both after winning Tuesday’s primary and harbors no hard feelings.

“He wants to be President Obama’s strongest ally in the Senate,” Dworkin said.

He declined to comment on Sestak’s allegations. “The congressman has said all he has to say about it,” he said. “He wants to focus on issues that are important to voters.”

Of course he wants to focus on issues. He can’t distance himself from that bribery kerfluffle fast enough…now that he’s poked a finger in the collective eye of the power brokers who were hell-bent on keeping Specter in that office 6 more years. He has nothing to gain, and everything to lose, by dragging up old baggage with Obama now.

The article says Toomey isn’t planning to make an issue out of this, which I guess is a good thing for him. The rest of us aren’t quite as quick to forgive and forget though…and we aren’t beholden to the Democrat Party to play nice and try to get along.

Now that the race for US Senate is down to 2 in Pennsylvania- Toomey and Sestak – let’s remind ourselves once again of what is at stake in November. Give the Democrats a thumbs up to keep doing what they’re doing, or force a change. Toomey is a change…Sestak, with this nonsense of wanting to be the biggest ally of the biggest problem in Washington, is just “more of the same.”
