I had never heard of DARVO until this morning. As defined by Jennifer J. Freyd in her 1997 publication titled “Feminism & Psychology” DARVO is an acronym that stands for “Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender.”
While Freyd’s work might have nothing to do with Politics, I found my way to her observations all the same while looking for background on an article from “The Hill” and this notion of denial and victim-blaming on the part of the Democrats. But their increasing levels of panic and desperation, and the means by which they intend to obfuscate and deflect blame away from themselves in the hope of getting re-elected, brings us to that very same place:
So Democrats have turned to a strategy that may be their next best bet: demonization of the “insurgent†Tea Party.
“These are not your run-of-the-mill Republicans we’re talking about here,†said one Democratic organizer working in a state with a contested Senate race this fall. “When you actually start telling voters what these candidates are about, it scares the hell out of them.â€
Using the threat of a “Tea Party Congress” as a way to inspire their base to get to the polls and vote for Democrats would be hysterically funny were this election not so critically important to the future of our Country. The Tea Party was born specifically because of the collective malfeasance on the part of the very people who are singularly to blame for having conceived it. The irony is rich with this one folks.
Democrat policies have been shown to be wildly unpopular with a growing number of Americans…that this lack of popularity can’t be comprehended by those responsible for them should not be lost on anyone.
The Tea Party is not the “bad guy” here; Democrats are to be blamed for our problems, and they are to be held to account for them. On November 2, Tea Party or not, Democrats will be given exactly what they have worked so hard to accomplish…a very long and hopefully permanent vacation.

Their demonization of tea party candidates simply marginalizes them more and more. Will they understand that this country and not them decides who is in the mainstream and who is out of it? They are the ones who think differently. They are the ones out of the mainstream. We don’t need to imagine what would happen if they were in control because we are living with it. We want it to end now!
