Of Sinking Ships And Rahm Emanuel

ABC News tells us that Rahm Emanuel might be out of a job by the end of the week, and more’s the pity. We know he was in the US House representing Illinois’s 5th congressional district, he had a gig running the DCCC once, this is the SECOND Presidential suck-up job he’s had… and he aspired once upon a time to be the first Jew to be Speaker of the House. We also know he’s only the latest entry on a growing list of evacuees from the downward-spiraling Administration currently atop America’s ruling class:

Although no final decision has been made because of family considerations, ABC News has learned that White House officials are preparing for Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to announce on Friday — as Congress adjourns for recess — that he is leaving his post to explore a run for mayor of Chicago.

The former Chicagoan has never been coy about his desire to head the proverbial City With Shoulders.

“One day I would like to run for mayor of the city of Chicago. … That’s always been an aspiration of mine, even when I was in the House of Representatives,” Emanuel said in April to Bloomberg’s Charlie Rose. With Daley’s announced exit, ambitious Chicago Democrats quickly began angling to replace him, creating pressure for Emanuel to make a decision on his White House position soon, even coming from the president himself.

“I think that Rahm will have to make a decision quickly, because running for mayor of Chicago is a serious enterprise,” President Obama said Monday on NBC’s “Today Show.” “He hasn’t told me yet. But as soon as he does, I’m sure that we’ll announce it.”

The president has been clear that Emanuel has his blessing when the job opened, aides calling it an “unbelievably attractive opportunity” for anyone that the president would support.

Could it be that this is an indication from one of the most ambitious politicians in the Democrat party that there will JUST be no more glory to be found by hanging around the Obama Administration, now that we’ve made it clear this November 2nd will be a day of reckoning for the Liberal/Progressive agenda? And, isn’t it nice that all these Chicago thugs politicians would go to DC, trash the place for a spell, and find an upside to running back home to seek refuge inside one of the most historically corrupt City Halls in American history? With all that power at the right hand of “the Man” in the White House, there is either MORE power in Chicago…or it’s time to get while the gettin’s good.

After all the showers he took with Politicos to get Obama’s agenda through Congress…and all the twisted and broken arms…it makes perfect sense for him to see Mayor of Chicago as a step up. Most of us would disagree…but then, most of us aren’t rats either. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Mr. Emanuel…you’re just one less mess we busy ourselves now with cleaning up after.
